Stephen Ashton

Stephen Ashton is an experienced professional in the field of engineering and development services, currently serving as the Director of Engineering & Development Services for the City of Belleville since June 2018. Prior to this role, Stephen held positions including Manager of Policy Planning at the City of Belleville and Manager of Planning, Building and Community Development at the Municipality of Brighton. Additional experience includes serving as Planner II for Downtown Development in the Town of Whitby and Heritage and Land-Use Planner in the Town of Cobourg. Stephen began a career in planning as a Heritage Planner for the Town of Oakville and also has a background in business as a Partner at G. Facey Clothing. Stephen's public service includes time as a Councillor in the Town of Port Hope. Stephen holds a Bachelor of Environmental Studies in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Waterloo.
