Samantha McGinnis is currently serving as the Assistant Director for Downtown Projects & Programs at the City of Burlington. Previously, Samantha worked at the Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy Greenway Conservancy in various roles including Director of Programs and Earned Income, Associate Director of Programs, Programs Manager, and Public Programs and Events Coordinator. Prior to that, Samantha gained experience at the Beacon Hill Civic Association as an Assistant to the Executive Director. Samantha holds a Bachelor of Science in Community and International Development from the University of Vermont, as well as Certificates in Nonprofit Management and Leadership.

Burlington is the largest city in the State of Vermont with a population of nearly 40,000. The city covers 15.5 square miles on the eastern shore of Lake Champlain. There are four colleges in the city including the University of Vermont, (UVM). The University is located overlooking the city on a 451-acre campus which includes undergraduate, graduate, and medical schools. In addition there are two colleges within the city: Champlain College which occupies more than 40 buildings on over 22 acres, as well as Burlington College, which is smaller in size.
