Shane Shields

Shane Shields is an experienced professional in public administration and finance, currently serving as a Budget Analyst for The City of Derby since August 2023. Prior to this role, Shane was a Branch Office Administrator at Edward Jones from January 2023 to August 2023. With a long-standing career in city government, Shane served as City Manager for the City of Wellington, Kansas, from March 2010 to August 2022, where responsibilities included budgeting, financing, human resources, and public relations. Earlier positions include City Clerk and Finance Director for Sumner County, Kansas, from January 1996 to March 2010, and various roles in law enforcement at the city and county levels from June 1979 to January 1996. Shane holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Resources Development from Southwestern College and an Associate's degree in Criminal Justice/Police Science from Cowley County Community College.
