Michael Lange has over two decades of diverse experience in law enforcement and education. Currently serving as Deputy Chief of Operations and Detective Commander for The City of Lake Forest since August 2004, Michael Lange also operates as a Business Owner at Perspective 360, LLC, which focuses on educating the public about active threats. In addition, Michael Lange has been an Adjunct Professor at Carthage College since September 2009. Prior experience includes a role as a Correctional Officer with the Wisconsin Department of Corrections from January 2000 to August 2004. Michael Lange holds a Master’s Degree in Forensic Psychology from The Chicago School (2006-2009), completed the School of Staff and Command at Northwestern University in 2015, and earned Bachelor's degrees in Sociology and Criminology from UW-Stevens Point (1995-1999).

The City of Lake Forest

Municipal government serving The City of Lake Forest, Illinois. Established by charter in 1861, Lake Forest is a city located in Lake County, Illinois, United States. As of the 2010 census it had a population of 19,375. The city is located along the shore of Lake Michigan and is a part of the Chicago metropolitan area known as the North Shore. Lake Forest was founded around Lake Forest College and First Presbyterian Church. It was laid out as a town in 1857 as a stop for travelers making their way south to Chicago. The Lake Forest City Hall, designed by an architect named Frost, was completed in 1898 and originally housed the fire department, the Lake Forest Library, and city offices.
