Rev. Dr. Hedgeman has served as the Senior Pastor at Bethany Christian Church since 1997. In this capacity, Dr. Hedgeman has focused her congregation on a community-centered approach, including the development of a summer enrichment program for youth that provides participants with reading and math skills, sports activities, field trips, and more. Prior to coming to Cleveland, she served seven years on the regional staff of the Christian Church in Ohio. Dr. Hedgeman’s pastoral work has also included stops in her hometown of Washington, D.C., as well as Louisville, Ky. and Peoria, Ill. She is an adjunct professor for the National Youth Sports Program at Case Western Reserve University, a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc., and serves as a mentor for the John Adams High School for the Adopt-A-School Program. Dr. Hedgeman earned a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education from Towson State University, a Master of Divinity from Lexington Theological Seminary, and a Doctor of Ministry from United Theological Seminary.
