Christopher Petek has extensive experience in clinical research and operations management. Christopher began their career as a Clinical Research Coordinator at Nationwide Children's Hospital, where they oversaw multiple Phase I Investigator Initiated Neuromuscular Gene Therapy Trials. Christopher was responsible for patient recruitment, coordination of visits, data management, and serving as a liaison between sponsors, investigators, and participants.
Petek then worked as the Director of Research at Optimed Research LTD, where they provided oversight and support to the clinical research staff, established processes and best practices for research management, and increased company revenue. Christopher also spearheaded the opening of additional locations and led the workflow of protocol registration, study start-up, and documentation.
After that, Petek joined The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center as a Clinical Research Assistant, both remotely and in-house. In these roles, they managed budgets and contracts, completed IRB submissions, and recruited and enrolled subjects for multiple clinical trials. Christopher also assisted in grant submissions, coordinated collaborations with various departments, and educated potential research patients.
Petek then served as the Research Director at Great Lakes Medical Research, LLC, overseeing clinical operations and trial management. Christopher focused on program optimization, expanding participation from physician investigators, and building a positive image of sponsored research through marketing and communication. Christopher also collaborated with the compliance officer to address research compliance issues.
Currently, Petek holds the position of Chief Operating Officer at The Clinical Trials Network (CTNx). Christopher previously served as President and Vice President at the organization. In their role as COO, they developed the business model for daily operations and growth, provided oversight and support to the management team, and acted as a liaison between pharmaceutical partners and site investigators. Christopher also managed financial aspects, such as revenue and profit goals.

Christopher Petek completed their high school education at Amherst Steele High School from 2007 to 2011. Christopher then attended The Ohio State University, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Neuroscience from 2011 to 2015. Christopher furthered their education at The Ohio State University by completing a Master's degree in Applied Clinical and Preclinical Research (MACPR) from 2015 to 2016.
