Aryan Hanbeck

Studio Art Director at The Coalition Studio

Aryan Hanbeck has a wealth of experience in the video game industry. Starting in 2000 as an artist at Radical Entertainment, they gained experience in modeling, texturing, and lighting for multiple Xbox and PS2 titles. In 2003, they joined Electronic Arts Canada as an Art Director, where they led teams of up to 26 artists and directed the creation of game art for six titles across multiple platforms. Aryan's artistic vision and direction resulted in the creation of a unique visual style for the Wii Grand Slam Tennis title, which was highly praised and adopted for other Wii sports franchises at EA. From 2003 to 2016, Aryan worked as a Design Instructor at the British Columbia Institute of Technology, delivering course material in 3D modeling and texturing and developing the curriculum for these courses. Currently, they are the Studio Art Director at The Coalition Studio, responsible for overseeing the production of all art, including in-game assets, marketing materials, and licensing assets. Aryan collaborates closely with the game team Art Directors to ensure the high standard of artistic execution aligns with the overall vision of the studio and supports the studio's goals.

Aryan Hanbeck began their education in 1992 at The University of British Columbia, where they pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art History. They successfully completed their studies in this field in 1996. After a brief hiatus, Aryan returned to education in 1999 and enrolled at the British Columbia Institute of Technology. They completed a 3D Animation Certificate program in the year 2000.
