Tom Koutsoumpas

Tom Koutsoumpas has a diverse and extensive work experience in the healthcare industry. Tom is currently serving as the Chairman of the Board at Capital Caring Health, a position they have held since May 2023. Prior to this, they were the President and Chief Executive Officer of the same company from August 2018 to May 2023.

Before joining Capital Caring Health, Tom held executive positions at various organizations. From 2015 to the present, they have worked as the Chief Executive Officer, President, and CEO of the National Partnership for Healthcare and Hospice Innovation, where they focused on improving advanced illness care delivery. Tom is also a co-founder and co-chair of The Coalition to Transform Advanced Care, a role they have held since 2011.

Tom has extensive experience in health policy consulting as the Founder and President of Healthsperien LLC, a Washington, D.C.-based consulting firm specializing in strategic healthcare public policy and regulatory affairs. Tom served in this role from January 2013 onwards.

Earlier in their career, Tom worked in senior leadership positions at UnitedHealth Group and Vitas Healthcare, where they contributed to the development and delivery of palliative care, hospice, and bereavement counseling services.

Tom has also held influential roles in government and public affairs. In their early years, they served as a Senior Advisor and Executive Assistant to Governor Evan Bayh and later as a Special Assistant to Senator Birch Bayh in the United States Senate.

Before entering the healthcare industry, Tom worked as a Public Affairs Associate at Burson-Marsteller and as a Health Policy Advisor at Hogan Lovells.
