Scott McDaniel has over 20 years of work experience in user interface design and development. Scott started their career in 1996 as a Technical Writer for OPNET Technologies (formerly MIL 3, Inc.). In 1998, they moved to Science Applications International Corporation as a Technical Writer, where they managed documentation projects and wrote documentation for a Lotus Notes system. In 2000, they joined Cognetics Corporation as a User Interface Designer, providing user-centered design services to clients such as Reed-Elsevier, ADP, IRS, Freddie Mac, and the Library of Congress. In 2004, they worked as a User Interface Designer for Management Systems Designers/Lockheed Martin, Inc., designing and developing applications in XSLT, XHTML, and CSS to query several databases and present patients with a range of medical resources. In 2011, they became the Web Projects Director at Genetic Alliance, managing and coding over 10 web sites for a health non-profit, many of which were Drupal installations. In 2012, they worked as a User Experience Strategist at Design for Context, designing user interfaces for client web applications. In 2013, they joined Kelly & Associates Insurance Group as a UI/UX Designer, working regularly with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Angular JS, jQuery, and ASP. NET to design and implement screens and workflows. In 2014, they moved to FINRA as a Senior UX Developer, developing front ends for workflow-oriented web applications. Scott later joined The Coleman Group Inc. in 2018 as a Senior User Interface Developer, working on visual data presentation and workflow applications as a contractor for the U. S. Census Bureau.

Scott McDaniel received their Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from James Madison University in 1992 and their Master of Arts degree in Experimental Psychology from the University of Rochester in 1994.
