Elissa Kim

As the head of global strategy and talent, Elissa helps design new approaches to the College Board mission. She is responsible for building a world-class team dedicated to creating opportunity for all students.

Elissa also oversees the international work of the College Board, as well as our Puerto Rico and Latin America Office. Across the globe, she helps make the College Board a fantastic place to work and grow.

"We have a team that's highly motivated to tackle ambitious challenges—and succeed," Elissa said. "Creating a vibrant culture and attracting talented people is crucial, something we have to get right to achieve our goals on behalf of students."

Elissa started her career in New Orleans, where she taught English and reading to 9th- and 10th-grade students. She was recruited by Teach For America's national office and spent more than 17 years leading the organization’s recruitment and selection efforts. She served on the Metro Nashville Public Schools Board of Education for four years before being appointed to the Tennessee State Board of Education in 2016.

Elissa holds a BA in history and religion from Northwestern University, which she attended on a full-ride tennis scholarship.
