Karen McNeil-Miller has a diverse work experience spanning various leadership roles. Karen began their career in education at The Piedmont School, where they served as the Assistant Head of School & Faculty from 1982 to 1984, and later as the Head of School from 1984 to 1988. Following this, they joined the Center for Creative Leadership in 1988 as a Faculty Member until 1994. Karen then transitioned to the role of Managing Director at the Colorado Campus from 1995 to 1999. In 1999, they became the Vice President of Corporate Resources at the Center for Creative Leadership, a position they held until 2005. Karen then served as the President of the Kate B. Reynolds Charitable Trust from 2005 to 2015. Currently, Karen McNeil-Miller is the Chief Executive Officer of The Colorado Health Foundation, a role they have held since 2015.
Karen McNeil-Miller has a diverse and extensive education history. Karen obtained their Doctor of Education - EdD degree in Leadership from Vanderbilt University from 1991 to 1993. Prior to that, they pursued a Master's degree in Special Education and Teaching from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, graduating in 1981. In 1980, they completed their Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education and Teaching from the same institution. Karen started their higher education journey at Isothermal Community College, where they acquired an Associate of Science - AS degree from 1976 to 1978. Karen McNeil-Miller completed their high school education at R-S Central High School, earning their High School Diploma between 1972 and 1976.
