Scott Downes

Scott Downes has extensive work experience in various roles within the field of public health and communications. Scott is currently serving as a Portfolio Director at The Colorado Health Foundation since September 2022. Prior to this, they held the position of Senior Program Officer at the same organization from March 2020 to September 2022.

Before joining The Colorado Health Foundation, Scott worked as a Principal at Thomas LLC from October 2014 to March 2020. Scott also served as a Senior Program Officer at The Colorado Trust from November 2009 to October 2014.

Scott's earlier experience includes working as a Communications Director at Colorado Center on Law and Policy from 2007 to 2009. Scott also gained valuable experience as a Speechwriter and Policy Advisor for the State of New Mexico in 2004, and as a Press Secretary for Kernan - Davis for Indiana in 2003.

Additionally, Scott held positions at Booz Allen Hamilton as a Senior Consultant in 2003, and at the U.S. House of Representatives (IN-9) as a Communications Director/Campaign Manager from 2001 to 2003. Scott began their career as a Special Assistant at the Democratic National Committee from 1999 to 2001.

Scott Downes attended the University of Notre Dame from 1995 to 1999, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Government.
