Matt Martin

Director, Community Research at The Columbus Foundation

Matt Martin's work experience includes serving as the Director of Community Research at The Columbus Foundation since 2017. In this role, they are responsible for research, development, and implementation of social investments to strengthen and improve the community. Matt'sexpertise in urban planning and community development has positioned the Foundation as a leader in neighborhood revitalization, affordable housing, and digital equity. Prior to this, Matt worked as a Senior Researcher at the Kirwan Institute for the Study of Race and Ethnicity at The Ohio State University from 2009 to 2017, focusing on housing and transportation policy, neighborhood revitalization, and regional inequality. Matt also has experience as a Regional Planner at the Miami Valley Regional Planning Commission from 2006 to 2008, and as a Planning & Zoning Intern at the City of Piqua in 2006. Matt began their career as a Planning Intern at the City of Kettering from 2004 to 2005.

Matt Martin received a Bachelor of Science degree in Urban Affairs from Wright State University, where they studied Urban Planning, Public Administration, and African/African American Studies. Matt attended Wright State University from 2002 to 2006. Afterward, they pursued a Master's degree in City & Regional Planning from The Ohio State University from 2009 to 2014.
