Ian McGarvey

Ian McGarvey is an experienced IT professional currently serving as the Lead Database Administrator at The Comfort Group - Asia Pacific since June 2022. Previous experience includes roles as SQL Developer and DBA at Fidelity Life Assurance Company Ltd from March 2013 to May 2022, where responsibilities involved maintaining and monitoring database infrastructure and planning migrations to cloud services. Prior to this, Ian operated as an IT Contractor from January 2011 to February 2013, and served as IT Manager at Money Managers Ltd, New Zealand's largest privately owned Financial Planning organization, from January 1996 to December 2010. Earlier career experience includes serving as Software Support Manager at Financial Planners Support Group Ltd from November 1993 to December 1995. Ian holds a Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science, a Master of Arts in Chinese History, a Postgraduate Diploma in History, and a Bachelor of Arts in History, all from The University of Auckland and Nanjing University.
