Eleanor Saslaw is an experienced educational leader and licensed professional counselor with a career spanning over four decades. Currently, Eleanor serves as the Immediate Past Chair and a board member of the Virginia Community College Board, with a longstanding commitment since July 2017. Concurrently, Eleanor has held the position of Vice Chair of the Virginia Community College System since 2014. From 2004 to 2012, Eleanor served as the President of the Virginia Board of Education, overseeing critical educational operations across 132 school divisions in Virginia and participating actively in governance functions and committees. Previous roles include Director of Student Services and educator in Fairfax County Public Schools, alongside a private counseling practice since 1980.
