Liz Palmer

VP, Human Resources & Operations at The Conservation Fund

As the Director of Human Resources (HR) and Administration, Liz oversees the human resources function, including personnel administration, legal compliance, policy development, compensation, benefits, performance review management, and employee relations. She also handles building property management and office administration for the headquarters facility. She is co-chair of the organization’s Equity, Diversity & Inclusion Committee. Liz joined The Conservation Fund in September of 2019 as the Director of Business Systems, helping to guide the configuration and development of key business systems and leading business automation projects to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the organization’s operations.

She comes to The Conservation Fund with 25 years of management, systems, and business process implementation experience, most recently at The Nature Conservancy. While there she held several positions over her 11-year tenure, including the Senior Director of Corporate Systems & Finance/Operations for its Information Technology (IT) business unit. In this role, she managed the department’s $35 million annual operating budget and oversaw all department finance, HR, procurement, and contract functions. In addition, she oversaw systems development works for the global organization’s financial, HR, and legal systems. She began her career auditing financial systems for a Big Six accounting firm and then transitioned her skills to internal project development and management for several service organizations, including a Fortune 500 company and a manufacturing federal contractor.
