Sam Smith is the Leader of the Opposition at Nottinghamshire County Council and currently serves as a Conservative Councillor for Gedling Borough, representing the Trent Valley Ward. Elected in May 2019, Sam has held various leadership roles within the council, including Chairman of the Children and Families Scrutiny Select Committee and Cabinet Member for Education and SEND. Previously, Sam was the Parliamentary Constituency Manager at the House of Commons and the Deputy Chairman of the Conservative Party in Nottinghamshire County. With a strong background in public service and community engagement, Sam is dedicated to representing the interests of constituents and shaping impactful policies.
