The Construction Standard is CSI's authorized licensor for the MasterFormat®, UniFormat®, and OmniClass® classification standards—and the team behind the CSI Dynamic Standards℠ modern delivery system, turning these classification standards into living, interoperable infrastructure for the AECO ecosystem.

For decades, AECO professionals have used these classification standards to organize how projects are scoped, specified, priced, built, and handed over; our focus is modern access and application—making them easier to license, easier to keep current, and easier to use in real workflows without version ambiguity or manual workarounds.

We work in close partnership with The Construction Specifications Institute, Inc. (CSI), which created and maintains these classification standards through consensus-based, vendor-neutral stewardship; The Construction Standard focuses on licensing, distribution, and building practical tools with architects, engineers, owners, contractors, and software platforms across AECO.

Founded as Construction Information Network, LLC (CIN) in Alexandria, VA in 2020, we began operating publicly as The Construction Standard in July 2025 with a team across North America and Europe. Our mission: give every project the same controlled vocabulary—and the tooling to use it—from concept through operations.

Today, that starts with the CSI Dynamic Standards℠ delivery system; next is the MasterProduct™ independent product universe, linking 12M+ construction products and 2,700+ rationalized attributes to the standards teams specify and manage every day—neutral by design, built for interoperability, and focused on measurable outcomes: less rework, fewer RFIs, cleaner bids, and steadier schedules.
