The Crucible
Eric Blanpied is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in both woodworking and software development. Currently serving as the Woodworking Department Head at The Crucible since August 2018, Eric also owns Eric Blanpied Furniture, established in January 2017. As the Founder and Tech Lead of Debriefly since May 2015, Eric's focus is on enhancing healthcare training for medical teams globally. Additionally, Eric has owned Spark Alley since April 2006, specializing in media solutions. Previous roles include Software Architect at muzic.com, Software Engineer at Tribeworks, and Interactivity Specialist at Apple Inc., where Eric contributed to notable multimedia projects. Eric's career began as an Interactive Multimedia Specialist at InfoUse, developing educational content. Education includes attendance at UC San Diego from 1983 to 1985.

The Crucible is a nonprofit educational facility that fosters a collaboration of Arts, Industry and Community. Through training in the fine and industrial arts, The Crucible promotes creative expression, reuse of materials, and innovative design while serving as an accessible arts venue for the general public.
