Ivan Berejkoff

Department Head: Foundry at The Crucible

Ivan Berejkoff has a diverse work experience in various art-related roles. Ivan started as a Staff member at Redux Contemporary Art Center from 2005 to 2010. In 2015, they worked as a Sculpture and Ceramics Dept. Technician at Diablo Valley College and later as a Sculpture Lab Technician at Academy of Art University from November 2015 to May 2016. Ivan then joined AB&I Foundry in 2016, initially as a Pattern Maker Apprentice until August 2020, and later as a Foundry Pattern Maker at Journey level until August 2021. From 2016 to the present, Ivan has also been associated with The Crucible, where they held the positions of Studio Manager, Welding and Foundry instructor, and currently serves as the Department Head for Foundry. Most recently, Ivan joined California College of the Arts in August 2021 as the Studio Manager, Fabrication, and was subsequently promoted to the role of Studio Operations Manager in August 2022.

Ivan Berejkoff's education history is as follows:

From 2019 to 2021, Ivan attended San Francisco State University and earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Studio Art, with a minor in Art History.

From 2015 to 2017, Ivan studied at Laney College and obtained an Associate of Science (AS) degree in Machine Tool Technology/Machinist.

In 2014, Ivan completed a certificate program in Industrial Maintenance at Laney College.

From 2013 to 2015, Ivan pursued an Associate of Science (AS) degree in Welding Technology at Laney College.

From 2004 to 2007, Ivan attended College of Charleston, where they accumulated most of their undergraduate units in the field of Sculpture.

From 2002 to 2004, Ivan studied at Diablo Valley College and obtained an Associate of Arts (AA) degree with a concentration in Studio Art, specifically Sculpture.

In addition to their educational qualifications, Ivan has acquired several certifications throughout their career. In 2020, they became a Journeyperson Foundry Patternmaker through the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers. In 2016, Ivan obtained a Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) 40 HR. certification from the Occupational Safety Health Administration (OSHA). Ivan also holds certifications in various welding techniques from the American Welding Society, including GMAW (Mild Steel), GTAW (Aluminum), and SMAW (Mild Steel), all obtained in 2015. Furthermore, Ivan has completed certifications related to job planning, benchwork, and layout, as well as measurement, materials, and safety, from the NIMS - National Institute for Metalworking Skills in 2014. Lastly, Ivan obtained a 30-hour safety in construction certification from the US Department of Labor (OSHA) in 2014.
