Janet Hayes is an accomplished educator and public relations professional with extensive experience in the field of literature and arts. Since August 2017, Janet has served as a Glass Arts Instructor at The Crucible. Previously, Janet held the position of Public Relations Director at the Unitarian Universalist Association from January 2002 to July 2010. Janet's academic background includes a Bachelor of Arts in Great Books Program (Philosophy) from St. John's College, a Master of Arts in English from the University of Kentucky, and ongoing doctoral studies in English at The University of Texas at Austin. Additionally, Janet is pursuing a Graduate Certificate in Public Relations from Emerson College and holds an ALM in Literature and Creative Writing from Harvard University.

Through training in the fine and industrial arts, The Crucible promotes creative expression, reuse of materials, and innovative design while serving as an accessible arts venue for the general public.
