The Crucible
Kua Patten is an experienced professional in the field of arts and education with a diverse background in exhibit services and operational management. Currently serving as the Neon Department Faculty at The Crucible since June 2014, Kua Patten teaches intensive courses on neon glasswork while also holding the position of Director of Studio Operations and Facilities, overseeing a 50,000 square foot campus in Oakland, California, and managing health and safety compliance across 19 departments. In addition, Kua Patten operates as Principal Consultant at Patten Museum Consulting, providing expertise in design and planning for interactive educational centers. Prior experience includes a significant tenure at the Exploratorium, where Kua Patten served as Director of Exhibit Services, managing a $3+ million budget and a team of 24, along with various roles that involved sales and project management in the production of interactive science exhibits. Kua Patten's educational background includes an MFA in Fine Art from Montana State University-Bozeman and a BFA in Photography from the Academy of Art University.
