Richard Carrivick CISM, CRISC

Richard Carrivick has a diverse work experience in the field of cyber security and risk management. Richard is currently working as a Senior Cyber Security Consultant at Cyberfort Group since March 2022. Previously, they held various roles in the UK Civil Service, including Senior Enterprise Risk Manager from July 2021 to February 2022, Senior Enterprise Security Risk Analyst from February 2018 to July 2021, and Enterprise Security Risk Analyst from January 2017 to February 2018.

Before joining the UK Civil Service, Richard served as an Information Governance Assistant at Surrey County Council from April 2015 to January 2017. Richard also worked as a Security Information Coordinator at SGS United Kingdom from October 2012 to April 2015.

In the Australian Government, Richard worked as a Brigade Risk Manager from December 2008 to October 2012 and as an Operations/Intelligence Support Officer from June 2007 to December 2008.

Richard gained retail experience as a Customer Service Representative in various retail companies from June 1997 to June 2007.

Additionally, Richard had a brief role as a Tutor in Information Security Management at Murdoch University in 2007. Richard also worked as a Public Sector Intern at the WA Equal Opportunity Commission from September 2006 to December 2006.

Richard's early professional experience includes serving in the Australian Army as a Soldier and Communications Technician (Reserve) from August 2001 to March 2005.

After completing their secondary education, Richard Carrivick pursued higher education at Murdoch University. From 2004 to 2006, they obtained a Bachelor of Arts - BA degree, majoring in Politics & International Studies and Security & Counter-Terrorism Studies. Building upon this foundation, they continued their studies at Murdoch University from 2007 to 2008 and earned an Honours degree in Security & Counter-Terrorism Studies.

In addition to their academic achievements, Richard Carrivick has obtained multiple certifications that highlight their expertise in the field. Richard obtained the ISO 27001 Certified ISMS Internal Auditor (CIS IA) certification from IBITGQ in July 2012. Richard expanded their skills by obtaining the BTEC Level 4 - Security Coordination and Management certification from ARC TRAINING (UK) LIMITED in December 2013.

Richard Carrivick continued to enhance their professional qualifications throughout their career. Richard obtained the Certificate in Information Security Management Principles (CISMP) from BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT in July 2017. In January 2018, they received the ISO 27005 Certified ISMS Risk Management (CIS RM) certification from IBITGQ. Furthermore, they obtained the ISO 27001 Certified ISMS Lead Auditor (CIS LA) certification from IBITGQ in October 2018.

In February 2020, Richard Carrivick obtained the Certified GRC Professional certification from OCEG (Open Compliance & Ethics Group), demonstrating their expertise in governance, risk management, and compliance.
