Melissa Unlu

Melissa Unlu is a Machine Learning Researcher at Dartmouth College, where responsibilities include diagnosing model failures through shape and geometric features, informed by statistical learning and Information Theory. Additionally, Melissa serves as a columnist for The Cougar, contributing to both the Cooglife and Opinion sections. Previous research roles include projects at Colorado School of Mines under Dr. Eileen Martin and the University of Houston College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, focusing on deep learning applications for groundwater issues in California, as well as research on intrinsically disordered proteins at UH Cullen College of Engineering, advised by Dr. Gul Zerze. Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science at the University of Houston, Melissa's academic journey spans from August 2021 to December 2025.
