The Daily Northwestern
Astry Rodriguez serves as the Executive Editor at North by Northwestern since November 2021, and has held various editorial roles including Managing Editor, DEI Editor, Assistant Managing Editor, and Co-Section Editor, where responsibilities included overseeing sections, training editors, and editing articles. Currently, Astry also works as a Consumer Investigative Intern at Noticias Telemundo Communications, focusing on consumer complaints, and as a Correspondent for Planet Forward, reporting on environmental issues impacting marginalized communities. As Co-President of NAHJ, planning events and fostering networking opportunities are key responsibilities. Additionally, Astry contributes as a News Reporter for The Daily Northwestern and has held various internships and leadership positions related to journalism and community service. Astry is pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Journalism at Northwestern University, with an academic background from Northwestern Academy and Roberto Clemente Community Academy.

One of the nation’s most respected college newspapers, The Daily Northwestern has won dozens of regional and national awards. The Daily received the top award from the Illinois College Press Association in February 2012 and February 2014. It has also won the Pacemaker, long regarded as the Pulitzer Prize of college journalism, seven times inthe past decade — most recently in 2011-12.The Daily publishes five days a week, Monday through Friday, during regular academic weeks.
