The Daily Northwestern
Sonya Dymova is an experienced journalist and researcher currently serving as the Assistant Photo Editor and Reporter for The Daily Northwestern since October 2022. Dymova has contributed as a Public Health Researcher at the Research and Training Centre for Community Development (RTCCD) from June to August 2023 and worked as a Research Assistant at the Center for the Study of Diversity & Democracy at Northwestern University from April to June 2023. Previous roles include teaching Jewish history and managing events at the Jewish Agency Sohnut in Russia and reporting for the "HSE Children" media at the Higher School of Economics. Dymova is pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Journalism and Political Science at Northwestern University, having previously attained an International Baccalaureate at UWC Red Cross Nordic and a High School Diploma in Humanities at HSE Lyceum.

The Daily received the top award from the Illinois College Press Association in February 2012 and February 2014. It has also won the Pacemaker, long regarded as the Pulitzer Prize of college journalism, seven times inthe past decade — most recently in 2011-12.The Daily publishes five days a week, Monday through Friday, during regular academic weeks.
