Steve Bruss

Steve Bruss currently serves as the Assistant Managing Editor for News at The Dallas Morning News, a position held since October 2022. Prior to this role, Steve held various editorial positions within the Gannett | USA TODAY NETWORK, including Executive Editor for Upstate South Carolina, where oversight was provided for multiple digital-first news organizations, and Regional News Director for South Carolina. Earlier experience includes roles as News Director at the Anderson Independent Mail, Engagement Editor at The Greenville News, and Business Editor at the Green Bay Press-Gazette. Steve's career began as a Copy Editor at the Milwaukee Sentinel and a Reporter at the Waukesha Freeman. Steve holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications and Journalism from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
