Avinash Vazirani

Avinash Vazirani is a highly experienced professional currently serving as the Assistant Director of Regulatory Model & ICT at the Australian Government Department of Health, Disability and Ageing since November 2024. Previously, significant roles include Principal Policy Advisor for Medical Research at the Victorian Department of Health and Manager of the Evidence - Safety Insights Program at Safer Care Victoria. Avinash has also held various managerial positions, including Manager of Sector Partnerships at the Department of Jobs, Precincts and Regions and Manager of Commissioning & Logistics for the COVID-19 Vaccination Program at the Victorian Department of Health. Earlier experience includes a tenure at the Therapeutic Goods Administration, where multiple leadership roles were undertaken, along with positions as a Locum Pharmacist, Medical Information Specialist, and Clinical Pharmacist across various organizations. Avinash holds a Bachelor of Pharmacy (Hons) from Monash University and completed secondary education at Penleigh and Essendon Grammar School.
