Michael Gottwald

Michael Gottwald is a prominent figure in the film industry, currently serving as Founder, Producer, and Partner at THE DEPARTMENT OF MOTION PICTURES LLC since April 2015. With a diverse portfolio, Gottwald has produced acclaimed films such as "BLOODY NOSE, EMPTY POCKETS," which premiered internationally at Berlinale 2020, and "WENDY," a re-imagining of "Peter Pan." Other notable productions include "PATTI CAKE$," "WESTERN," "PING PONG SUMMER," "TCHOUPITOULAS," and "BEASTS OF THE SOUTHERN WILD." Gottwald also contributed as a Digital Projects Manager for Obama for America in 2011 and has a strong background in community outreach through Court 13, a nonprofit arts organization in New Orleans.
