Alfonso Cerna

Alfonso Cerna is a seasoned professional in broadcast operations and media production, currently serving as the Assistant Athletics Director of Broadcast Operations/Live Events at DePaul University Athletics since January 2025. Prior to this role, Cerna held positions including Director of Redbird Productions and Assistant Director of Redbird Productions at Illinois State Athletics from May 2023 to January 2025. Experience also includes working as a Photojournalist/Video Editor and Digital Content Producer for WQAD News 8 from August 2021 to May 2023, as well as serving as a Production Assistant for the Quad Cities River Bandits. Earlier roles include participation in the FanSided Fellowship Program, serving as a Broadcast Journalist at WZND Radio, and working as a Sports Reporter for The Vidette. Cerna earned a B.S. in Journalism from Illinois State University, completing the degree in 2020.
