Asma Begum

Asma Begum is a dedicated professional with diverse experience in research, mental health advocacy, and education. Currently serving as a Research Mentee at the Stanford Muslim Mental Health and Islamic Psychology Lab, Asma focuses on addressing the mental health needs of the Muslim community. In the role of Lead Medical Assistant at The Dermatology Specialists, Asma manages patient intake and supports medical staff during consultations. Asma’s background also includes instructing reading and mathematics at Kumon Math and Reading Center since 2017. Previous roles at New York University included various leadership positions, such as Pre-SOMA Social Chair and Executive Vice President of CAB, where Asma managed events and promoted student engagement. Asma holds a Bachelor of Arts in Individualized Studies with a focus on Child Development from NYU Gallatin.
