Kelley Root is an experienced editorial professional with a robust journalistic background spanning several decades. Currently serving as Special Projects Editor at The Detroit News since November 2022, Kelley previously held the position of Executive Editor at Crain's Detroit Business from March 2020 to September 2022. Kelley's extensive tenure at The Detroit News from March 2004 to February 2020 included roles as Managing Editor, Assistant Managing Editor, Suburban Editor, and Bureau Chief.
