Shantel Gooden, MPA has worked in various positions throughout their career. Shantel currently holds the role of Senior Director of Behavioral Health Administration and Operations at The Dimock Center, a position they have held since September 2020. Prior to this, they served as Vice President at Begin To Dream Again starting in November 2015. In August 2015, they worked as the Lead Case Coordinator for the Housing and Homelessness Prevention Department at Action for Boston Community Development, Inc. Shantel also gained experience at MHSA Scattered Site Family Shelter & Stabilization Programs as Support Staff from November 2013 to January 2020, where they worked with individuals experiencing homelessness, substance abuse, and domestic violence, advocating for their needs and making referrals to appropriate resources. Lastly, they served as an Intake Coordinator at ARBOUR HEALTH SYSTEM from February 2014 to January 2016.
Shantel Gooden, MPA, received their Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice/Safety Studies from Bridgewater State University from 2009 to 2013. Shantel then pursued their Master of Public Administration (MPA) in Public Administration from Suffolk University from 2017 to 2020. In addition to their degrees, they obtained a certification as a Human Rights Officer from the Developmental Services Human Rights Office in August 2012.
