Valerie Smith

Valerie Smith has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Valerie started their career as a Fundraising Associate at Lisa Wagner & Co. Inc. in 2012, where they handled fundraising for political candidates and organized events. In 2013, they worked as a Staff Assistant for the U.S. House of Representatives. From 2014 to 2016, Valerie worked at the Association Management Center as a Member Services Representative and later as an Account Coordinator. Valerie then joined the Golden Apple Foundation in 2016, initially as a Development Coordinator before moving up to Manager of Development, Talent, and Operations and finally Chief of Staff. Their most recent position is Director of Talent and Operations at The Dispatch, a role they have held since 2019.

Valerie Smith obtained their Bachelor's degree in Political Science and Government from Wheaton College, where they studied from 2009 to 2013. In addition to their degree, they also earned a certification in SHRM-CP from SHRM Certification in December 2018.
