Sevylla del Mazo is an experienced arts educator and cultural facilitator with a diverse background in teaching, performance, and program development. As the Founder and Teaching Artist of the Roots & Rhythms Cultural Arts Program since January 2009, Sevylla has created opportunities for youth engagement through arts education in multiple Austin ISD schools. Additionally, Sevylla has served as a Facilitator, Drummer, and Dancer at The Drum Cafe, promoting team-building through music, and performs as a Percussionist in the Latin-Jazz trio Acoustic Jungle. Previous experience includes contributions as a Board Member for the Lannaya Drum and Dance Ensemble and as a Program Specialist IV at the 21st Century Community Learning Center. Sevylla holds a Bachelor of Arts in Cultural Anthropology from The University of Texas at Austin, enhancing a commitment to cultural education and community enrichment.
