Erich Kroll

Erich Kroll has extensive work experience in engineering and management positions in the wine industry. Erich currently holds the role of Vice President of Engineering at The Duckhorn Portfolio, starting in 2023. Prior to this, they served as Director of Engineering at The Duckhorn Portfolio from 2022 to 2023.

Before joining The Duckhorn Portfolio, Erich worked at Jackson Family Wines from 2014 to 2022, where they held the position of Director of Engineering. In this role, they provided technical leadership and support for capital projects, mentored project managers, and implemented cross-functional strategies to maintain the company's leadership in process, sustainability, automation, and building technology. Erich also served as an Engineering Project Manager, managing various design, planning, and construction projects.

Prior to their role at Jackson Family Wines, Erich served as the Vice President of Operations at Jamieson Ranch Vineyards from 2009 to 2014. Erich also worked as a Supervising Engineer at the County of Napa from 2008 to 2009, and as a Project Engineer at DeSilva Gates Construction from 2007 to 2008.

Erich began their career as a Project Manager at Steven J. Lafranchi & Associates, Inc. from 2005 to 2007, and as a Project Engineer at Riechers Spence & Associates from 2002 to 2005.

Erich Kroll earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Colorado Boulder in 1999. Erich subsequently pursued a Master's degree (MS) in Geotechnical Engineering at the same institution from 1999 to 2000. In 2003, Erich obtained a Professional Engineering & Land Surveyors License from the California Board of Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors, & Geologist.
