Sarah Hicks

Sarah Hicks, EI, is a dedicated mechanical engineer with a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering from East Carolina University. Currently serving as a Mechanical Engineer Intern at The East Group since May 2022, Sarah collaborates with designers, engineers, and project managers while assisting in drafting and field measurements. Prior experience includes a Student Intern role at the Innovation and Design Lab, where Sarah designed 3D Personal Protective gear during the COVID-19 pandemic and emphasized cleanliness for safe working conditions. As a Teaching Assistant at East Carolina University, Sarah supported graphics and computer applications courses and provided assistance to students. Additionally, Sarah has a strong background in safety and instruction as a lifeguard and gymnastics instructor at various facilities, including Harrison Family YMCA and Vidant Wellness Center.
