Brigit Morris has a strong background in data protection and legal affairs. Brigit is currently serving as the Global Lead Data Privacy Counsel at The Economist since August 2022. Prior to this role, Brigit worked at the BBC as a Senior Lawyer for Data Protection and FOI from July 2019 to August 2022, and as a Lawyer for Data Protection and FOI from May 2017 to July 2019. Before joining the BBC, they served as a Policy Officer at the Independent Monitor for the Press from November 2015 to April 2017. Brigit's earlier experience includes working as a Legal Officer at the Australian Law Reform Commission from August 2013 to August 2015.
Brigit Morris obtained a Bachelor of Laws - LLB degree, with a focus on Law and Political Economy, from the University of Sydney from 2006 to 2011. Brigit then pursued a Masters degree in Public Policy/Law from King's College London from 2015 to 2016.
