Lauren Mactas has had a diverse work experience in the education sector. Lauren started their career as a Special Education Itinerant Teacher at Starting Point Services for Children in 2001. Lauren then worked as a Teacher Trainer at Goodwin Associates in 2004. From 2007 to 2012, they served as the Director of Cassidy's Place and Director of Echo Park Early Head Start at the Association to Benefit Children (ABC). In 2012, they became the Director at Imagine Early Learning Centers until 2015. From 2015 to 2019, they held the position of Executive Director at Riverdale Presbyterian Church Nursery School. Currently, they work as the Head of Early Learning at The Elisabeth Morrow School since 2019.

Lauren Mactas has a diverse education history. Lauren obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree in Interior Design from Pratt Institute, where they attended from 1991 to 1995. At Bank Street College of Education, they pursued a Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Early Childhood Education and a Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Elementary Education. Lauren also completed a Post-Graduate Degree in School Leadership and Administration at Hunter College.

In addition to their degrees, Lauren has acquired several certifications. Lauren obtained certifications in School Building Leadership, Early Childhood Education, and School District Leadership from the New York State Education Department. Lauren received these certifications in June of 2011, 2010, and 2010, respectively.
