Nora Friedman

Violin Faculty Summer String Festival at The Elisabeth Morrow School

Nora Friedman is an accomplished violin educator with extensive experience in music instruction and program management. Currently serving as the Suzuki Violin Department Head at the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music since July 2017, Nora mentors a faculty of eight, manages over 90 students, and organizes numerous concerts annually. As the proprietor of the Bed Stuy Suzuki Violin Studio since 2007, Nora emphasizes excellence in musical education through private lessons, family engagement, and performance opportunities. Additional roles include violin faculty positions at The Elisabeth Morrow School and the Preparatory Center for the Performing Arts at Brooklyn College. Nora has also contributed to music education as the founder of violin programs at Excellence Boys Charter School and The High School for Violin and Dance. An alumnus of Wesleyan University, Montclair State University, and Brooklyn College Conservatory of Music, Nora holds a Master of Music in Violin Performance.
