Liya Assefa

Senior Associate Director, Programs at The END Fund

Liya Assefa began their work experience in 2010 as a Laboratory Assistant and Researcher at Yale University. From 2011 to 2012, they worked as a Program Manager at GirlSportWorks. In 2013, they joined the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine as a Research Assistant in Epidemiology and Economic Evaluation. In 2019, they started working at The END Fund as an Associate, Programs. Liya was promoted to Senior Associate, Programs in March 2021 and later became the Associate Director in March 2022.

Liya Assefa's education history began in 2007 when they enrolled at Yale University. Liya pursued a degree in Political Science and completed their Bachelor of Arts (BA) in 2011. Following this, Liya attended the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, University of London from 2012 to 2013, where they obtained a Master of Science degree (MSc) specializing in the Control of Infectious Diseases. Most recently, from 2015 to 2018, Liya was a student at the Medical College of Wisconsin, where they worked towards their MD degree. The field of study for their MD program is not specified.
