Eric Jaffe

Program Director, Strategic Communications at Energy Foundation

Eric Jaffe's work experience begins in 1993 as a Foreign Policy Intern for the U.S. House of Representatives. Eric later becomes a Legislative Assistant for Congresswoman Pat Danner and then a Senior Legislative Assistant for Governor Mel Carnahan.

In 1998, Jaffe becomes a Political Consultant for SCRB Strategies and works with candidates to develop successful campaign strategies. Eric then transitions to a role as an Account Executive at Solem & Associates, where they manage political campaigns and government relations programs.

In 2001, Jaffe serves as the Press Secretary for Healthcare for Washington's Working Families - Initiative 773, where they garner media attention and endorsements for a successful ballot initiative. Eric then becomes a Political Associate at Staton & Hughes, managing campaign strategies for candidates and ballot measures.

Starting in 2005, Jaffe establishes their own company, Jaffe Public Strategies, and serves as an Owner. Eric directs strategic communications efforts for various clients, helping them achieve complex organizational objectives.

In 2010, Jaffe joins Resource Media as a Managing Program Director, leading a team of consultants in using communication strategies to advance economic and climate policy objectives.

Finally, in 2016, Jaffe transitions to the Energy Foundation, first as a Senior Manager of Strategic Communications and then as a Program Director, Strategic Communications. In these roles, they advise and collaborates with advocates, grantees, and philanthropic partners on communications strategies to promote clean energy and climate policies. Eric also co-founds and leads Energy Media, a national network of communications professionals in the clean energy and climate policy sector.

Eric Jaffe began their education at Friends Seminary, where they studied from 1976 to 1988. Eric then pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and History at Washington University in St. Louis, completing their studies from 1988 to 1992. In 1990 to 1991, Jaffe also attended the University of East Anglia as a visiting student, focusing on Politics.
