Phil Ortiz

Phil Ortiz currently serves as the Program Director for Northeast Communications at the U.S. Energy Foundation since April 2025. Prior experience includes serving as Chief of Staff at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden from December 2021 to March 2025, and holding multiple roles at the NYC Office of the Mayor from August 2018 to October 2021, including Acting Chief of Staff for the Mayor's Office of Climate Resiliency and Deputy Director of External Affairs. Additional experience encompasses positions at Climate Action Campaign DC as Deputy Communications Director and Digital Communications Manager, a Junior Editor role at the Global Call for Climate Action, a Fellowship in New Product Development at Atlantic Media, as well as internships in communications at the Center for Western Priorities and OnSight Public Affairs. Phil Ortiz obtained a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and Philosophy from the University of Colorado Boulder.
