Arman Mottaghi's work experience begins with their role as a Senior Avionics Engineer at The Exploration Company in 2023. Prior to that, they worked at Northrop Grumman from 2018 to 2023. Their roles at Northrop Grumman included being a Fault Management and System Autonomy Principal Engineer and a Fault Management and System Autonomy Systems Engineer. In these positions, they performed fault management and autonomy design for various avionics systems and conducted cost and schedule impact assessments for software changes. Arman also gained technical knowledge of various interfaces and conducted functional and risk analysis. Before their time at Northrop Grumman, Arman worked as a Fault Management and System Autonomy Associate Engineer at Orbital ATK from 2018 to 2020, where they performed verification and validation of spacecraft requirements and supported mission operations. Prior to that, they worked at Orbital ATK as a Graduate Systems Intern, where they developed Excel-based systems and web scrapping applications.

Arman Mottaghi pursued their education with a focus on aerospace and engineering. From 2014 to 2018, they attended the University of Virginia, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical, and Astronautical Engineering. Building upon this foundation, from 2019 to 2021, they enrolled in The Johns Hopkins University, where they earned a Master of Science (MS) degree in Space Systems Engineering.
