Barbara Doran

Barbara Doran is the treasurer at The Explorers Club. Prior to their current role, Doran served as a senior portfolio manager and wealth advisor at Morgan Stanley from July 2011 to August 2015. In this role, they provided full range of wealth advisory services, asset allocation and investment management services to individuals, family offices, foundations and endowments. Doran was in the top percentile of 17,000+ advisors in performance net of fees in two of three years for discretionary accounts.

Doran began their career in investment management at Neuberger Berman in January 2003, where they served as research investment officer and portfolio manager. In this role, they were responsible for the management of equity research, strategy, new product development, and was interim director of research of a 45-person department. Barbara also championed and pioneered the introduction of long/short equity hedge funds. As co-portfolio manager of an incubated TMT fund (technology/media/telecommunications), they achieved performance of 18.5% vs. S&P 11%, Russell 1000G 9.9%,12/05-2/08.

Barbara Doran graduated with a MBA from Harvard Business School and a BA in English and creative writing from Penn State University.
