Nancy Barnes

Nancy Barnes is the President of The Eyak Corporation and is the Chair of the corporation’s Compensation Committee. She is also the Chair of the corporation’s Governance Committee and a member of the Communications, Descendant Issues, Donations, Eyak Benefits Trust, and Eyak Permanent Fund Settlement Trust committees.

Nancy is the daughter of the late Cecil Barnes (Alutiiq) and Anna Benson-Barnes (Tsimshian). She serves on the Alaska Federation of Natives’ board of directors, representing the Chugach village corporations and tribal entities, and serves on the steering committee for the Alaska Native Fund. Nancy is the Education Project Coordinator for Sealaska Heritage Institute and is the lead drummer for Yees Ku Oo, a multicultural Native dance group.
