Shayan Amin

Shayan Amin, P.E., M.C.E. has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Shayan is currently serving as the Executive Vice President for The Falcon Group, where they oversee operations in the DC/MD/VA region. Prior to this, they were a Board Member and Secretary for the American Society of Civil Engineers - Structural Engineering Institute Maryland Chapter.

Shayan also has extensive experience in the engineering field. Shayan worked at Gale Associates as a Senior Staff Engineer specializing in building enclosure design and consulting. Shayan performed structural evaluations, analysis, and remedial design services for modern and historic buildings, with a specific focus on building enclosure components.

Before their time at Gale Associates, Shayan was a Structural Engineer II at Mercado Consultants, where they provided structural evaluation and rehabilitative design services for transportation infrastructure projects. Shayan also worked as a Structural Designer at Morris & Ritchie Associates, specializing in the design, analysis, and drafting of telecommunications structures.

In addition to their engineering roles, Shayan gained valuable experience through internships at the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation. As a Roadway Management Intern, they assisted with technical analysis and data management for the Roadway Management System. During their time as a Bridge Inspection Intern, they aided in bridge inspections and gained knowledge of the engineering process from design to construction.

Earlier in their career, Shayan worked as a Tennis Instructor for the Bloomsburg Town Park Tennis Program, where they trained students of all ages in the game of tennis and developed leadership skills.

Shayan Amin, P.E., M.C.E. completed their education in Civil Engineering with a focus on Structural Engineering. Shayan earned their Bachelor's degree from Penn State University, graduating in 2012. Later, they pursued their Master of Engineering degree in Civil Engineering from the Johns Hopkins Whiting School of Engineering, specializing in the same field of study. Additionally, they were also a candidate for the Master of Engineering (M.Eng.) degree in Structural Engineering from Johns Hopkins Engineering for Professionals. In 2017, they obtained a professional certification as a licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) from NCEES.
