Aaron H. Freedman

Aaron H. Freedman is an experienced finance professional currently serving as Principal and Country Risk Specialist at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, focusing on Latin America and southern and eastern Africa since October 2020. Prior to this role, Aaron held various positions at Moody's Investors Service from September 1999 to March 2019, including Associate Managing Director for LatAm Banking, where leadership of a team of ten analysts was key in overseeing a portfolio of 135 issuers across 14 countries. Other significant roles included VP/Senior Credit Officer in the Sovereign Risk Group and Interim Team Leader for the Subsovereign Group Americas Team. Aaron was also a founding member of Moody's project finance team, contributing to the enhancement of project finance ratings and conducting credit analyses across a diverse array of financial sectors. Aaron holds a BA in Japanese Studies/History from Duke University and a Master of International Affairs, International Economic Policy from Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs.
