Jack Gutt

EVP, Head of Communications & Outreach Group at The Federal Reserve Bank of New York

Jack Gutt is executive vice president and head of the Communications and Outreach Group at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. The Communications and Outreach Group works to develop, coordinate and disseminate information about the Bank and its work to internal and external audiences. Mr. Gutt also serves on the Bank’s Executive Committee.

Mr. Gutt has more than 18 years of experience counseling global companies, non-profit organizations and governments on crisis and issues management, corporate positioning, transactions, public affairs and media strategy.

Prior to joining the New York Fed, Mr. Gutt served as managing director at several leading public relations and public affairs firms and was one of the founding partners of Vistance Group LLC. He began his communications consulting career working for the Presidency of the Republic of Ecuador on its privatization and modernization program, and later remained in the region advising multinationals doing business in Latin America as well as several political candidates during three electoral cycles. In 1998, he moved to South Florida where he helped to establish Hill & Knowlton’s office.

Mr. Gutt joined the Bank in September 2009 as an officer in media relations and public affairs. Mr. Gutt holds degrees in newspaper journalism and political science, both from Syracuse University.
