Ulrike Hotopp

Ulrike Hotopp is a Reader in Economic Policy Analysis at the University of Kent since September 2019, teaching degree apprentices in Economics about Government policy appraisal and evaluation. Additionally, Ulrike serves as a Non-Executive Board Member of Market Operator Services Limited, scrutinizing market code changes to ensure a functional non-household water market. With extensive experience in various advisory roles, Ulrike is a Panel Member for both Ofgem's Enforcement Decision Panel and the Competition and Markets Authority, where independent decisions on mergers and competition cases are made. As Director of LIVE Economics Ltd, Ulrike provides independent economic advice and strategy development. Previous positions include Chief Economist at Simetrica, Chief Economist and Director for Analysis at the Department for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, and non-executive roles at Queen Mary University of London and RICS. Ulrike holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Sussex and multiple degrees in economics and related fields from prestigious institutions.
